Wearable X is a fashion-tech company creating connected apparel that integrates technology directly into clothing. During my summer internship, I worked across adaptive apparel design, wearable-tech research, and digital content. One of the company’s core products is Nadi X, smart yoga apparel that uses embedded motion sensors and strategically placed haptic actuators to deliver real-time vibrational cues that guide movement and improve alignment.
QUO Adaptive Apparel
For QUO’s adaptive clothing line, I designed a bomber jacket and wide-leg pants with features that make dressing easier without looking medical. My concepts included full-length arm and leg zippers, protective zipper backings, adjustable waist closures, oversized Q-shaped zipper pulls, and a magnetic collar that detaches at the front while remaining secured at the back. I developed the designs through technical drawings, digital renderings, material exploration, and prototype revisions.
Social Battery Tee — personal project
I designed the Social Battery Tee to turn the feeling of your “social battery” into something you can actually see. The shirt uses a stretch sensor along the side seam to track changes in breathing and a small microphone hidden at the collar to detect speaking activity. I chose these placements so the technology could gather useful signals without getting in the way of actually wearing the shirt.
The sensor data is processed to estimate changes in social energy, which are reflected through an LED battery display on the front of the tee. As your social battery changes, the illuminated battery level changes with it. I wanted the technology to feel integrated into the clothing rather than added on, so the stretch sensor moves naturally with the rib cage while the main electronics are contained in a separate pod along the opposite side seam.
Through this project, I’m exploring how wearable technology can take something invisible and internal and turn it into a physical, expressive part of what we wear.
