Hello! I’m Katelyn Guo, an engineer and designer interested in how objects move, feel, and connect with people.

I’m a mechanical engineering student at Brown, where I design and fabricate everything from carbon-fiber aerodynamic components for our Formula SAE race car to flowing garments for the runway. I love the entire process of making something, from early concepts and messy iterations to the moment it finally works the way I imagined.

I’m especially drawn to projects that consider both how something functions and how it feels to use. I think about structure, materials, movement, and the experience of the person interacting with what I make. To me, good engineering is not just about whether something works. It is also about whether it works well for the person using it.

Outside of projects, I’m usually thrifting at the bins, at a K-pop (BIG Seventeen fan) or indie concert, rock climbing, or making silly TikToks.

I’m looking for opportunities in product design and development where I can build across disciplines and create things that feel as good as they function.
